Economics is about understanding the numbers. It is the study of allocating scarce resources to satisfy one's needs and wants. It examines how people make choices in the face of scarcity and the consequences of those choices. Economics encompasses the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. In this case study, we will examine energy and time consumption in the face of inflation.
As the time of each interval decreases, the stroke rate increases. Six minutes rest in between intervals.
The goal is to negative split across the entire workout, stepping down your avg/split with each stroke rate increase. Be pragmatic initially, but don't sandbag the first 9' either. Have a strategic plan.
* Target goal of +2 on the stroke rate/-2 on the avg/split. Suggested starting SR is 22.
Throw darts and be accurate. Control the numbers on the monitor, not the other way around. This workout demonstrates the importance of economic stability and the precision suffering necessary to win races. Anaerobic to the max.
* If you get an "invalid" result, don't sweat it. Your effort still counts. You must be almost perfectly on the suggested stroke rate the entire workout to not be "invalid." We are accepting every completed effort! It's fun and good practice to try hitting and holding those ratings, but you don't have to to pass this class! =)
